Made in collaboration between the celebrated pianist, Tomoko Mukaiyama and her late husband and photographer Philip Mechanicus, _en blanc et noir_ combines both contributors skills in a personal and stylish publication. A series of full-page, black and white photographs, present previously unpublished nude pictures of the pianist along with an image of her behind her piano and other images taken by Mechanicus. While an accompanying CD with some 50 minutes of music presents the pianists improvised work _Sonic Tapestry_ which provides a historical journey over four centuries of music that zigzags between Eastern and Western influences.
