Over the last half-century, I have encountered and played various pianos around the world.
This piano no longer sang—my saddest encounter.
We inherited this piano from Minato Dai-ni Elementary School, which was destroyed by the tsunami on that fateful day.

The Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami struck 14 years ago today, on March 11, 2011.
22,228 people lost their lives or remain missing.
As of February 1 this year, 27,615 people were still displaced due to the nuclear power plant accident and tsunami.
